Another split weekend. The Carroll family headed to Lake George for the balloon festival while the Cunninghames hung in Monroe.

Sprinkles Ice Cream. Queensbury, NY. Huge portions, lots of flavors. Would have been a lot more fun in the sun!!

Cunninghames - Went with the dinner/ice cream combo again this week. First stop was the Firehouse in Newtown. Had driven past a few times and the place looked interesting. Walking through the front door it was much smaller than expected. Nice little bar in front with dining room in the back. Place was pretty empty. Menu was varied, almost too many choices- pizza, burgers, entrees including fish + steaks. Jake of course had a burger which he liked very much. Jake WOULD recommend this place to a friend and wants to go back again.
Best part of the evening for me - when i convinced Amy that the hot wings i ordered for an appetizer were not that hot, the look on her face and the water she gulped told a different story. 2nd best (well, funniest) part of the night was the F-Bomb the less-than-sober guy at the next table dropped.. TWICE ;-) Megan never heard the guy, she was busy playing "spy" when nobody was looking, doing somersaults and flipping over booths.
Off to Woodbury for ice cream. Amy found a place called Dairy Delite in Woodbury which looked good so we headed over. Hard to believe the summer has slipped away and it is now dark @ 7:00. I mention this because it is hard to find a place you've never been while driving unfamiliar roads in the dark... I had to slam the brakes and make an emergency turn to get into the parking lot. Ice cream selection and quality were good. I had a flavor called Pomperaug (named after a nearby river i think) which was vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips and heath. Megan went with a lemon sorbet this week.
