Summer is over and so is the Ice Cream Adventure

Have had way too much ice cream and now its time to find something new to blog about. I probably should blog about the diet i need to be on and the weight i should be losing but i'm not that "open" with my life so it will have to be something else.

Ski season is just about here ... could certainly blog about that. Not just the actual skiing but could also include planning, speculating, injury reports and such - but that is alpinezone.com is for. With family vacation to Summit County CO in Feb + a few other special trips planned to NH and ME I might end up putting that stuff here too. I'm always looking for an excuse to make a ski video.

Started a new event around the house this fall, "mom doesn't cook night". So far so good. Jake's gone twice while Megan and I have each gone once. Quick summary-
  • Jake made breakfast for dinner - Eggs, pancakes + bacon
  • Megan went with turkey club sandwiches + soup
  • Gary made his world famous chicken and potato dish, which wasn't nearly as good as he remembered it being :-(
  • Jake made an awesome bacon & cheddar meatloaf + mashed potatoes
Megan is up next.. she says it will be stuffed baked potato night.

I also tried, failed, but keep trying to get "Family Bench Press Night" kicked off. As the name implies, the whole family head to the basement and sees how much weight we can each bench press (yes, this is as stupid as it sounds). I won the first night :-) Oddly, nobody but me seems to want this new activity to continue. . . go figure.

Also batted around the idea of "what did we do that was exciting this week" which might take off.. just a general blog of what fun we've been having.

stay tuned, i hope to get something figured out soon.

Welcome to
Sundae Drive, a little diversion for the summer of 2009. The goal is simple: visit as many different ice cream shops as possible this summer! There are a couple of rules. First, and most important, is that the spirit of this adventure is to visit unique ice cream shoppes. I have nothing against the big chains. Cold Stone and DQ are great and I 've enjoyed many treats from those guys but I want to find the small out of the way/unique/not-your-average ice cream stores. The only other rule is that we should be finding new places each week, not going back to a place we've been already.

Let's see how this goes..
