Seems like just yesterday

but it was 16 years ago that Jake was born. I still remember it well, i guess i always will.

It started several days earlier, 8 weeks before he was due Amy started having contractions. She was admitted to the hospital and they did what they could to stop the process. On 2/15 the Dr told us everything was fine and that Amy could go home the next day. I went to work that night, we were setting up a computer show at the Trumbull Marriott. I'd been out all week due to Amy being in the hospital but since everything was looking good i decided to pitch in that night. We pulled an allnighter setting up for the show and around 5:00 AM my beeper went off. apparently things had changed and Amy was in labor, no stopping it. It was snowing that night (that was a very snowy winter) and i had to drive from Trumbull to Norwalk on the Parkway in about 6 inches of snow.

Once I got to the hospital i found that things had gotten under control. Active labor but not happening immediately. I had time to run home, get showered, feed the dog and get back to the hospital. I grabbed a quick lunch at Wendy's on my way. I took it to go and ate in the room with Amy. That was a mistake! i think the smell of the food combined with the whole labor thing made Amy nauseas and she got sick on me, not fun! The nurse gave me scrubs to change into and looked like a Dr so that was cool :-)

A few hours later just after 6:00 PM Jake was born. Life hasn't been the same since.
