Hot and Sticky

Typical New England summer day this weekend, hot and humid was the order of the day.  The little bit of rain didn't do much to cool things off so what better way to eat dinner than outside sitting in the sun, made just a little more tolerable by sitting on a deck overlooking the water.

Dinner this week at Sono Seaport Restaurant in Norwalk.  The Carrolls abandoned us for camping in New Hampshire so we had to call in reinforcements in the form of Mimi and Aunt Dot

 

Other than the jazz band being too loud dinner was great. Meg went with Shrimp, Jake & Amy had clam strips and whole bellies.   I had a combo platter, Mimi the soft shell crab and Aunt Dot had the Tilapia special.

 

After dinner we headed over the bridge to Sweet Ashley’s for dessert.  Very good ice cream, I had a hard time choosing flavors so went with a scoop of Espresso Chip and a scoop of Coffee w/ Heath Bar.

 

Meanwhile up in Jefferson New Hampshire the Carrolls hit up a local ice cream shop.

 

They only had ice cream, Gifford's, not the ribs (personally, i'd have gone with the ribs over the ice cream).  And like us they had to bring in substitutes on their adventure.  I'm not sure what to make of it though, we had Amy's mom and Aunt Dot replace the Carrolls.  The Carrolls chose to replace us with goats......
