12:01 AM Wednesday was the showing of the new vampire love story movie Eclipse and Amy took Jaimee, Alyssa and Megan to see the opening day show.
Thursday night i took Meg & Jake to see The Last Airbender, which was a disappointment.
Friday the Carrolls dumped us for what seems like the 9th weekend in a row and headed to New Hampshire and that night Meg went with a friend to see fireworks.
Saturday was dinner out. Jake had gone to a friends house for a pool party so Amy, Meg and I planned on dinner and a movie ($2 theater!!). The new Hibachi place opened that i'd been wanting to goto so that was our destination. Here is summary of a month long conversation:
Amy - i think we should wait a few weeks after they open so they can iron out any problems.
Gary - what problems? lets go ASAP
Amy - ok, if you say so.
So we went, they'd been open 4 days. I'll spare you the details but i ended up with what must have been a mild case of food poisoning. up all night getting sick.. so lesson learned, listen to Amy!
But before i got too sick we headed to the $2 theater in Newtown to see "How to train your dragon". it wasn't on anyone's "must see" list but for $2 each you can't really go wrong.
Sunday was the fun day.. though i felt like crap we headed off to Hartford to see Cirque du Soleil. Amy and i'd seen a Cirque performance almost 20 years ago and i figured it would be fun for the kids.
Jake admitted afterwards that he liked it even though he expected it to be lame.
After the circus we headed to Old Weathersfield to make our official ice cream stop. Amy found a place, Main Street Creamery & Cafe, and it turned out to be great. I'd have to say it was the cutest (and i don't usually use that word) place we've been to yet on a Sundae Drive. Ice cream was good, not great but we liked the place.
