A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

7-11-10

So this update is worth about a $1.25. Jake took pictures this week on his cell phone but we're too technically challenged to get them off.

We reunited with the Carrolls Sunday for a local trip in Monroe.  Our Parks & Rec department puts on a Summer Concert series at Wolf Park and this week's concert was a comedy show so we decided to go there.

Before the show we went to Dr. Mike's of Monroe. We've eaten there plenty but never as part as part of the Sundae Drive adventure.  Lorri and I both had Carmel Toffee Crunch which was OUTSTANDING!  Can't remember what everyone else had except for Jon. The whipped cream on his sundae looked really really good.

After ice cream, we took two cars so Jake could drive, we headed over to the park. I was surprised at how  few people showed up for the comedy show and i started thinking we were in for a bogus evening.  Happily i was wrong.  They had 3 comics and 2 of the 3 were really funny (while the other was only a little funny).  The "headliner" (if you can call him that, performing for about 50 people) was a supposedly famous Boston guy, Jimmy Dunn. I thought the 2nd comic the best, Kelly McFarland.

Jake left early, he was bored, and the girls spent as much time playing in the park as they did watching the show but it was a fun night.
