I think it rained more on Sunday than it did all summer long but that wasn't getting in the way of our having a fun dinner and good ice cream. We all piled into the Acadia (seating for 8, perfect for our outing) and headed off to Bethel CT.
We picked a return visit to the Sycamore Drive-In for dinner. We'd been there last year and everybody really liked it so we decided to go back. There were no complaints and everyone had a great dinner.
Then we headed off to Stony Hill Ice Cream + Bakery, also in Bethel. Once again relying on GPS we got there but took a very scenic ride getting to see lots of back roads on a rainy night.
When we arrived the place was empty. But as soon as we ordered and sat down the place got crowded. The ice cream was good and they had a nice assortment of flavors. After stuffing myself at the drive-in i wasn't in the mood for anything too fancy so i opted for regular old chocolate chip. i wasn't paying attention to what everyone else ordered. I think the consensus was "very good, not great". They did have a nice seating area and we got to watch ESPN while we ate.
