After a week on the beach both families needed a break from the monotony that is the ocean so this week we headed to Captain's Cove Seaport in Bridgeport (http://www.captainscoveseaport.com/) for our now regular dinner out before ice cream. In case you didn't catch the sarcasm Captain's Cove is on the water in Bridgeport. It is a cool place, they have a take out style concession stand selling fried seafood (we had clam strips), burgers, dogs, sandwiches, etc. There was a band playing and a pretty good sized crowd.
As we finished up dinner some really wild clouds rolled in.
It then proceeded to pour as we drove over to our ice cream destination. Just around the corner from Captain's Cove was Timothy's Ice Cream Shop (http://www.roadfood.com/Reviews/Overview.aspx?RefID=530).
I believe they made some CT list of top shops. If so it had to be for the ice cream cuz the place itself was a dump!
The ice cream was actually very good. They did the mix-in thing like Cold Stone does. Jake had vanilla with butter finger and chocolate chips mixed in. He declared Timothy's his favorite shop of the summer so far.
