First we stuck with the same plan, basic vanilla + different topping to mix in. We added TWIX cookies since we liked it so much at the Milford shop. One time we threw the oreos right in the ice cream machine and it became a cookie ice cream.
Today we tried two new flavors. I threw together a batch of coffee chocolate chip ice cream. Unfortunately (well, actually it was planned all along) no one in the house likes coffee so i have to eat the whole thing myself....
Then Jake and Amy independently had the same idea, make a batch of ice cream with brownies mixed in. Amy baked a quick tray of brownies while Jake and I ran to the store to get the necessary ingredients. We needed chocolate because we decided to make it a chocolate brownie ice cream. This recipe was little fancier, we had to melt the chocolate and do some extra steps. In the end i thought it was incredible, so did Megan, but Amy and Jake were not blown away. I think Jake actually skipped it after taking a few tastes from the bowl.
did you ever consider setting up an ice cream parlor in Monroe? when i was in california a guy i worked with had an ice cream smorgasborg. all the toppings were separate and the price was based on weight. alc
